Zoli Article

Staffordshire gunshop Shooting
Sports UK has plenty to celebrate,
despite struggling with the lockdown like
everyone else. They’ve recently passed the
two year milestone since the family-run
business was launched – and they’ve just
been appointed a Zoli Premium Dealer.
General Manager Daniel Bibb explains
that for the first six months he was
running the business on his own from a
storage unit in Cannock. He finally found
the ideal location and opened the shop
in August 2019, in a converted barn on
the Stretton Estate. At the time they had
just ten guns and half a pallet of shotgun
cartridges; now they’ve more than 150
guns and 100,000 rounds of ammunition!
The staff has grown too, adding Paul
Hodson as assistant manager, supported by
the team of Jacob, Stephanie and Peter.
Daniel explains that they had been
interested in the Zoli brand, but had to
grow the business before they could do the
guns justice. “After a discussion with Rob
and Becky from Edgar Brothers we were
invited to go on a trip to experience the
Zoli Factory tour,” he says. “Now we hold a
range of Zoli shotguns and rifles in stock
with several Zoli demo guns for customers
to try on a ground of their choice.”
The shop sponsors top shooter Brent
Woodard, who is also a Zoli brand
ambassador and shoots a Zoli Zsport extra
with the Zoli BHB balance system. They
supply Brent with Hull cartridges with
help from Hull. “It almost seems a perfect
match,” says Daniel. “Brent loves his gun
and is now very happy to be shooting Hull
again. Brent is a shotgun coach and has
Zoli demo guns available for anyone to try;
this can be arranged through Brent or us.”
The shop were organising some Zoli
shotgun demo days, beginning with one at
Oakedge Shooting Ground in April, before
the coronavirus pandemic forced them to
put plans on hold. They are operating
online in the meantime, so check out the
